Answers to the questions we get most
Short, practical answers about setting up monitors, tuning alerts, and managing your account.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I add my first monitor?
- Open the dashboard, choose Monitors, and select Add monitor. Enter a name and a target URL or host, pick a check type, and save. The first result appears within one check interval.
- Why did I not get an alert during a short outage?
- Pingio confirms a failure from a second region before opening an incident. Very brief blips that recover before confirmation are recorded in the check history but do not create an incident or an alert.
- How do I stop duplicate notifications?
- Alerts are grouped per incident, not per failed check. If you still see repeats, check whether the same channel is attached to the monitor both directly and through a group.
- Can I monitor an internal service?
- Yes, using a server agent. Install the agent on a machine inside your network and it will report reachability and system metrics to Pingio over an outbound connection.
- How long is check history kept?
- Retention depends on your plan. Raw check results and incident history are available for the number of days listed on the pricing page for your plan.
- How do I cancel my subscription?
- Open Billing in your dashboard and switch to the free plan. Your paid features remain active until the end of the current period, and no further invoices are generated.
- Can I invite my team?
- Yes. Invite members from the team settings page and assign each of them an owner, admin, or member role. The number of seats depends on your plan.
